3. Hybrid Cloud

Hybrid models provide the flexibility of choosing where to run specific workloads while balancing performance, compliance, and cost-efficiency.

Comparison of Cloud Models

Public clouds offer cost-effective scalability and ease of deployment. They’re well-suited for businesses that need to spin up and down resources quickly and pay only for what they use. However, because resources are shared, organizations have less control over infrastructure and security.

Private clouds provide dedicated infrastructure, enabling complete control over security, performance, and compliance. The trade-off is higher upfront and ongoing maintenance costs.

Hybrid clouds provide the best of both worlds. They allow for sensitive workloads to remain in a controlled environment, while also enabling access to the agility and scalability of the public cloud.

Multi-Cloud Environments

A multi-cloud approach involves using services from more than one public cloud provider (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud). Organizations may adopt this strategy to:

Increase fault tolerance or business continuity

Unified Management: Centrally manage Windows, Linux servers, Kubernetes clusters, and databases regardless of location.
Flexibility: Run Azure services on any infrastructure—including your datacenter or other cloud platforms.
Security and Governance: Apply Azure’s security and compliance policies uniformly across hybrid and multi-cloud systems.

Azure VMware Solution

For organizations using VMware in private datacenters, Azure VMware Solution provides a seamless way to extend or migrate those environments into Azure. It supports running VMware workloads natively in Azure without rearchitecting, while benefiting from Azure’s scalability and services integration.
